What happens on day of eviction?

I am being evicted because my landlord wants to sell and am about to apply as homeless to the council. I have checked and I should be cled as priority and am cled as threatened with homelessness because I will be homeless within the next 28 days. I realise that the council will not actually do anything until the day of the eviction but what should I expect after that? I have heard that I have to go down there with my kids and my bags before they will house me. I have heard that they send a van to collect your belongings. Have any of you experienced this? What actually happens on that fateful day?
