Moving to California?

My boyfriend attends college in Valenica California and I go to college in Houson, Texas. We have two more years of school left so I wanted to transfer over there for the remaining years so we could be together then move back to houston. I just need advice on the logistics of moving out there, great places to live, and job oppurtunities. I also am interested in a LVN program out ther if any one knows a good one. This is something I really want to do and my family is backing me up on this, they cant stand to see me so depressed when he is gone. I Know califronia isnt cheap and I know it will be hard thats why Im asking for help. THANKS!
