How can I tell if my Juniper Bonsai tree is dying?

Alright so i forgot about it for a few days, so now it looks discolored. not brown, just kind of fading green. its also pretty stiff an the leaves are falling off. i have no idea how much to water it and i tried giving it tree medicine (i cant remember what its called), and what was supposed to last two weeks was gone in a night. and is it supposed to always be outside? the woman we bought it from said once every 7 days
